Our client, a leading law firm renowned for its comprehensive commercial litigation practice, is seeking an experienced and motivated Commercial Litigation Partner to join their New York team. Their litigators have a wealth of experience handling complex litigation in federal and state courts, including trial, appellate, and administrative proceedings. This role offers the opportunity to work with clients both nationally and internationally, alongside a team that leverages cutting-edge technology and a collaborative, strategic approach to litigation.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee a wide range of commercial litigation matters, including breach-of-contract claims, commercial class actions, white-collar criminal defense, and more.
- Represent clients in trial and appellate courts, as well as in arbitration, industry tribunals, and other alternative dispute resolution venues.
- Collaborate with clients to devise litigation strategies that align with their business needs and long-term objectives, offering advice on litigation avoidance when appropriate.
- Manage and mentor a team of litigators, support staff, and technical resources, ensuring that each matter is staffed with an efficient and effective team.
- Utilise the firm’s technical resources to manage electronic data efficiently, consistent with federal and state procedural rules.
Qualifications:
- Licensed to practice law in New York, with additional state bar admissions a plus.
- Extensive experience in complex commercial litigation, including trial and appellate experience.
- Proven expertise in courtroom advocacy, negotiation, and alternative dispute resolution methods; ability to manage sophisticated cases and advise clients on business-focused litigation strategies.
- Strong client development skills and a history of maintaining long-term client relationships.
- Demonstrated ability to lead litigation teams and collaborate effectively with diverse practice groups.
